JSCARC 3PP (3 Park POTA) 08/31/24

With no hurricanes in sight (as of today), it’s safe to plan another 3PP (3 Park POTA).

We’ll be tackling Galveston Island State Park first, and continue our route to Justin Hurst Wildlife Area and end at Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge.  Our planned operating times will be restricted to about 2 hours per park, which will test our ability to setup and teardown quickly for emergency readiness.  Yep, hurricane season is still here.

Not everyone will have the bandwidth to participate in all three parks, but the hope is at least we’ll get good turnout at the Galveston location- which remains one of the most favored parks within the club.

The weather will be hot and the Texas state bird (mosquito) will likely be abundantly spotted.  I’m sure the park rangers will gladly allow you to take some home as pets.
