It’s not too often the JSCARC gets visitors from overseas. Last month, Ben OS4K, contacted us through our w5rrr.org website to inquire if a visit to the shack was possible.5000 miles later, Ben and his associate, Dr. Fabian Steinmann met us at the shack for a wonderful meet and greet.
John AB5SS and I served as JSCARC hosts for a delightful exchange with our overseas visitors.
Ben is a super active ham operator from Belgium. He’s a highly regarded contester and dabbles in portable ops (WWFF- a version of POTA) and mostly every other aspect of ham radio. During the day, Ben is an Incident Management Officer at the Port of Antwerp-Bruges in Belgium and a part time EMT.
Fabian is a PhD lecturer at the Cranfield School of Management in the UK and an expert and consultant in Organizational Resilience and Change.
Both Ben and Fabian were attending a collaboration meeting with the Port of Houston Authority regarding incident management.
